Love this club, it’s always a blast. Drinks are fairly cheap. Service is quick, reliable and kind. If you’re new to austin or just want to try a new club they have a back patio dance floor that’s super dope

My wife and I have been coming to Barbs for over 10 years. Always a great time jammin' to the 80s on Friday nights. Love that there is always a diverse crowd of all ages that is judgment free. Bartenders are always great and take care of you. Dress code is relaxed. $5 cover and the DJ takes you down memory lane mixing your favorite music and videos from the 80s. Thanks for a great time Barbarellas, and don't ever change.

Great venue, lots of space, friendly staff, and cool lighting. I love their Friday 80s night, I was very happy to see such a vibrant crowd there. Their TV setup is really interesting, on the larger TVs they played the music videos for the songs they played, and on the smaller TVs they were playing Barbarella. Would recommend and will go back.

if you're gay probably 5 stars, and as a gay person keep going down to 6th. there's nothing for you here. doesn't really matter what night. It’s great unless you're straight and i'm gay so that's how i see it, hence my rating based on my experience. if you're gay you'll feel right at home. (fyi went there on a tuesday night)

I was here for Tuesgays and the drinks were strong, all the staff were super friendly, and the dance floor was packed and lively, especially in the latter half of the night. Overall a great experience!

Truly the best dive club in Austin. Depending on the day of the week, they offer a night of music for any type of music buff. For me, Y2K night on Thursday is the moment. Can dance there all NIGHT!

Tuesday nights — aka TuesGays — are undefeated, and Barbarella is where they peak. Karaoke chaos, elite people-watching, and just enough mess to keep things interesting. Cupcake runs the night with pure charisma, light menace, and impeccable timing. The outfits are experimental, the confidence is questionable (but never Cupcake), and somehow everyone ends up having a great time. There’s something for everyone — or more accurately, someone. Come curious. Leave hoarse.

I love this place. I come here every chance I get. Good music, good vibes. I've spoken to a few of the people who work here and they are super friendly and fun to speak to. Of all the bars in this part of town I am drawn here. I've never had problems with other people, it can get pretty crowded but when I've had to interact with people or get through the crowds they are kind. If you show up drunk or unprepared (with your id or your person) they might not let you in, especially if you are rowdy. They've had problems in the past. Overall it's an amazing place to go with a group or on your own, even as a woman.
